JL Clark Welcomes New EHS Manager
July 18th, 2022
Please welcome Jessica Nelson as our new EHS Manager. Jessica joined the JL Clark Team on July 18th and will be based at our Rockford location, reporting to Scott Coney.
Jessica comes to us from Rock Valley Oil & Chemical where she worked for the past 15 years as part of the Operations Team. As part of that team, she was responsible for maintaining the company’s compliance with the EPA, OSHA, and DOT, along with all State, Federal, and company-wide safety training. She held the roles of Master Scheduler, Assistant Plant Manager, and most recently the Director of Operations. She also worked for 8 years at Specialty Screw where she worked as the Subcontracted Services Coordinator and the Master Scheduler.
In the Lead Safety position for JL Clark, Jessica will be responsible for corporate oversight of all Safety and Environmental compliance. She will be working initially on re-establishing our Safety Program in all 3 facilities and then considering “best practices” to enhance our program with the intent to provide the safest work environment. With her diverse background in Operations, she understands the practical application of safety rules and regulations within the Manufacturing setting. As mentioned, Jessica will be based in Rockford Metals but she will have representation in Plastics as well as Lancaster as we look to fill the EHS Specialist role there.
Jessica earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management & Analysis from Ashford University and completed Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, hazardous Materials and ISO 9001:2000 Internal Auditor Training, along with obtaining her OSHA certification. She served on the local United Way Committee for 7 years and was a Girl Scout Troop Co-Leader for 5 years. She resides in Roscoe with her teenage children and enjoys camping, traveling, sports and spending as much time outside as possible in her spare time.
